Insects - Insecta - Who are insects and how do they live

Insects are the most important class of arthropods both because they contain a large amount of harmful species and because they cause a great deal of damage to crops.

These are small animals. The largest in fact, the kite (Lucanus cervus) reaches a maximum of 8 cm in length. They also have the characteristic that they reach the adult stage through various changes in both shape and size (mute).

Insects are among the oldest colonizers on our planet: insect fossils have been found dating back to the Devonian. I therefore assume a fundamental role in the colonization of the earth having, among other things, a close correlation with man and his activity.
