It is a plant that can reach a height of 2-3 meters, while it has quite large leaves, with a dark green color, rather glossy and with a length that can even reach 30 centimeters.

In the first phase of development, the leaves of the Ficus Robusta plant are characterized by being contained in a red colored sheath, which is then removed.

The Ficus Robusta plant is characterized by belonging to the genus of perennials: it is a plant that does not bloom and whose origin is typically Asian, since it comes especially from India.

The Ficus Robusta plant is characterized by being particularly widespread on the market for its important qualities from an aesthetic and ornamental point of view, but it is also definitely appreciated due to the ease with which it can be grown.

The Ficus robusta plant is characterized by preferring all those rather bright areas, even if it cannot bear direct sunlight.

As for the best temperature to ensure a correct development of this plant, we must underline how the Ficus Robusta is able to withstand even environments characterized by high temperatures.

Regarding the care of the substrate, we must emphasize how the following elements can be used effectively, such as peat, sand and leaf soil. Alternatively, you can also choose to focus on soil for green plants, always taking into account the necessary addition of a limited amount of gravel to ensure better drainage.

From the point of view of irrigation, the Ficus Robusta plant needs to receive important and constant irrigation, especially during the summer season.

When, on the other hand, the temperatures begin to drop, the advice is to decrease the consistency with which to perform irrigation, making sure to keep the soil only slightly moist.

During the summer season it is also important to pay close attention to fertilization: during the summer season, in fact, it is necessary to fertilize this plant every ten days, using 20 grams of fertilizer per decalitre of water.

Alternatively, there is also the possibility of using granular fertilizer, although in this case it is necessary to spread it on the soil.

The propagation of the ficus plant Robusta is performed by means of the cutting system, during the spring season.

As for the repotting, this is an operation that must be carried out every two years during the last part of the spring season. It is important to underline that the new vase that is used must not have a too high amplitude compared to the previously used vase.

Diseases and adversity

By the time this plant is dealing with a particularly high humidity level, it can also be attacked by gray mold.

When, however, not much attention is paid to the care of the ficus robusta plant, the main consequence is the loss of leaves, especially due to continuous changes in temperature or even in brightness.

When, on the other hand, an environment with a too high level of drought, such as excessively heated or poorly ventilated places, must certainly be faced, we must certainly remember the possibility that the ficus robusta plant suffers more frequently the attacks of parasites. .

Ficus robusta: Pruning

As for the pruning operation, we must remember how the Robusta ficus does not need to be pruned. If you want to give it a better look, the only possible action to be achieved is the removal of dry, yellowed or damaged leaves.
