4 reasons why landscape design services are wasted money

Homeowners are often reluctant to convert plots of land into garden beds. People dream of cozy and at the same time spectacular courtyards, for which they turn to landscape designers. But this is nothing more than a waste of money.

Uniformity

Unfortunately, there are not so many professionals who are able to generate original ideas (and the cost of their services is off the charts).

Most designers are superficially familiar with the latest trends and, on their basis, churn out the same type of projects in which there is neither soulfulness nor comfort.

With the same success, you yourself can find suitable options on the Internet and copy the one you like (or combine several). Yes, it will be the same template design. But you do not have to pay large sums for the project.

Fit new

Even the most interesting and modern design gets boring over time. At some point, you will want to place something new in the yard: a gazebo, a fountain, a playground, etc. It will be extremely difficult to fit an additional object into the finished composition.

As a result, you will either have to put up with the imbalance, or pay again to redo the project. It turns out that you are dependent on the designer. It is much easier to modernize a courtyard that is the product of your own imagination.

Small plants

Rarely do designers use mature plants and mostly work with young seedlings. Thus, you do not get a completed landscape, but only a draft. You have no idea how cute bushes and trees will look after a couple of years. Perhaps, instead of a cozy ornamental garden, you will get unremarkable chaotic thickets.

It turns out that you are paying for a pig in a poke, which in the end is very likely to be a dummy.

Of course, with self-planting, the result is also unpredictable. But at least you won't be offended for the money spent.

No sense of satisfaction

If a specialist will carry out the design of the local area for you, he may not take into account all your wishes and your vision. He will probably make a great project, which is important, but not enough to create a cozy atmosphere.

The best design is the one that was born in your head. It may seem strange, old-fashioned, lurid or modest to someone, but this is a reflection of your soul and character.

Only in such an environment will you feel moral satisfaction and peace of mind.

How to stop wasting money nowhere: 5 tips from financiers

Many people face a common problem: money is wasted very quickly.

This problem, first of all, is due to the fact that a person treats his work and salary very frivolously, since he is ready to spend money on goods that he does not really need.

If you want to learn how to spend less, then it is worth taking into account the following tips from financiers:

1. Make an approximate cost estimate, which will take into account all the necessary items: for example, utility bills, loans or installments, food.

Also analyze what products spend most of your budget and whether these expenses are really necessary. For example, when buying a number of food products, we largely overpay exclusively for the brand, but not for the quality of the product.

Then set aside an amount that you are not sorry to spend on your own entertainment. Do not spend the remaining amount.

2. If you suddenly wanted to buy something, then do not take the action right away: such purchases are not practical, but emotional in nature.

"Sleep" at least a day with this thought, and in the morning it will become clear to you whether or not you should buy a thing.

3. Analyze your spending. To do this, it would be most reasonable to create a separate list where you will record all current expenses. It's amazing how a cup of coffee at your favorite establishment can turn into a tidy sum over the course of a year.

4. If you have bad habits, then it's time to think about how to "quit" with them: just calculate how much you have spent in your entire life on wine and cigarettes. Moreover, these habits are extremely destructive in nature: they destroy the body and undermine health.

5. Stop using cards, especially credit cards. They steal a person's sense of reality and make people live beyond their means. The very idea that today you can buy something simply by swiping your card through the terminal, and pay for several years, seems attractive.

However, it is wiser to live within your means, but be clearly aware of what you are spending your money on.

Money needs to be spent! Otherwise, why earn them?

Financial spending is beneficial if done wisely. Buy pleasure and emotions, motivate yourself with money, live for today, invest in your own knowledge, and you will notice how what you want comes into your life without endless restrictions on yourself in everything. New opportunities appear where there is room for them. Don't worry about running out of money. If you spend them, and not "drain", think about what to spend, and do not forget to keep track of the budget, then even global costs will pay off over time.

Where to study to be a landscape designer?

The first option is to graduate from an academy, institute or university. For admission, you need to pass the Russian language, mathematics and biology in the USE format, and in some educational institutions - also a creative exam. If you are not confident in your abilities, be sure to take the preparatory courses - this will significantly increase your chances of admission. Training will last 4 years (bachelor's degree) or 6 years (master's degree).

The second option is to get an education as a landscape designer at a college or technical school. The average duration of study is 3 years 10 months for 9th grade graduates and 1 year 10 months for those who graduated from 11th grade.

The curriculum in both versions includes non-core disciplines (for example, physical education). This extends the time frame for obtaining a specialty.

If you already have a secondary vocational or higher education, or you do not want to spend several years studying, your option is specialized courses. Some of them are held online. Let's take a closer look at this option.

Why you shouldn't spend money on a landscape designer

Let's dot the "and" right away. There is no such thing as "average cost of work" in landscape design! Just like there is no average price for a home or interior. You need to understand that a garden is not a typical product at all.

The final cost of the improvement depends on a huge variety of factors - the size of the site and its features, on the content, on the level of construction.

For example, for Vasya, a “garden” of 6 acres is a small vegetable garden, fruit gardens and a couple of flower beds in front of the porch. And for Dima, the same 6 acres is a dense green lawn, decking and trimmed hedges around the entire perimeter.

Do you understand what the range of prices is?

To understand how much the improvement of your site will cost - in landscape bureaus, a project and project documentation are first developed.

So, we have decided that we need a project. How much does it cost and from whom to order? Today, industry standards in Russia have not yet been developed; there is a huge range of prices for landscape projects. Therefore, the project documentation is developed in the style of "who in what is what".

The client is drawn with anything - from unrealizable pictures to projects of the level of landscape architects. The lower level of the cost is the "handwriting" of a student or a foreman, and the upper one is the work of an architectural whole of an architectural company.

For an equivalent comparison, we took into account the prices for a typical set of drawings for a plot of 6 acres in a small landscape of the office. Most often, the lead designer is the director of the company, he is assisted by a team of specialists of 5-6 people.

For an accurate estimate of the cost of the improvement, you will need to order the following set of documents:

  • Situational plan (plan with initial measurements of site parameters)
  • Preliminary garden layouts (usually 2-3)
  • General plan of landscaping and improvement of the site (top view to scale), drawn up on the basis of the sketch chosen by the customer.
  • Dendroplan of the site (layout of trees and shrubs on it).
  • Layout layout drawing (scheme for marking tracks and sites).
  • Landing plan of landscaping (layout of seats).
  • Assortment list of plants (list of plants with possible replacements)

In Moscow: a complete landscaping project will cost 6,500-15,000 per one hundred square meters. That is, the design of a plot of 6 acres - from 39,000 to 90,000
In St. Petersburg: the lower bar - 3,500, the upper - the same 15,000 per hundred square meters. Total: 21,000 - 90,000 per project.
In Tver: specialists will take from 10,000 to 25,000 for the entire set of documents
In Krasnodar: prices start at 2 tr. per hundred square meters. Total: 12,000 per project.
In Kazan: average cost 2 600/100 m². Total: 15,600 per project.
